BIOGRAPHY
Katie Holmes is a midwestern gal. She was always involved with theatre in school, and although stardom often crossed her mind, she didn't think it was a serious possibility living in Ohio.
So she signed up for a modeling and talent convention in New York City, where she was spotted by a talent manager who got her to audition for "The Ice Storm." She got the part of Libbets Casey, a friend and love interest of lead actor Tobey Maguire. Although her role was small, she wowed audiences and critics alike. But, despite the call of Hollywood and fame, she returned home.
Her manager encouraged her to audition for the upcoming series Dawson's Creek. So Katie sent in a video tape, but opted out of going to LA for another audition, as she instead preferred to act in her high school production, "Damn Yankees." The producers of Dawson's thought she was worth the wait.
And was she ever! She got the role of Joey, and the rest, as they say, is history. We all know Katie Holmes beautiful face and she has set forth to become a force in industry for years to come.
